Ye Olde Good Tyme at Peralta Junction

Incredible retro signage and just one of the many beautiful murals
On Saturday afternoon we dropped into Peralta Junction to check out their Grand Opening and see what is was all about. This is a wonderful little encampment of old timey circus tents, arts and crafts, food, games and music. Like a mini Burning Man it is an art world unto itself, transforming vacant lots into a beautiful community space. Visually, this fair is a knock-out with attention to detail, hand lettered signage and dedication to a bygone era. Every little thing was handcrafted and designed by skilled artisans with an impeccable eye towards the overall feel of the venue. The vibe was wonderful, welcoming, mellow and fun – a relaxing place to browse, shop and enjoy.

Vintage goodies
Just one of the beautiful “booth” creations, the DJ was fantastic!
A fun game where you toss moneybags to disrobe the lady. The hand painted panels are stupendous!

Vintage clothes, handcrafted jewelry, snappy and unique T shirt designs, costumed folks, pumpkin carvings, movies and more…  The popcorn was addictive, the DJ has us hooked, the vendor’s wares had us doing some early Xmas shopping; we left happy and satisfied – ready to make a return visit really soon.

Pumpkins and carvings
A detail of the backdrop for the beautiful “Another Roadside Attraction Stage”.
Just one example of the artisan wares,  gorgeous steampunk inspired jewelry.

One of the many art installations – some great towering dandelion metal sculptures!
