Alina Chau has a light, delicate and whimsical touch, which hearkens us back to early Sixties poster art – illustrations touched by magic and hope. Youthful innocence and fairy tale kingdoms float softly through her watercolors, often embellished with decorative patterns. There is a unique freedom and positivity to her images, gestural looseness and a contagious childlike love of life. She has an upcoming solo show Voyage, in the Elmwood district of Berkeley, featuring her travel and landscape inspired works.
Alina received her Master of Fine Arts in Animation from University of California, Los Angeles School of Theater, Film, and Television. She has produced and animated three independent animated short films and has over eight years of production experience in the animation and gaming industries.
(One the same night, Trickster will be hosting: Hither And Yon, The Art of Travel Group Show.)
Opening Reception: June 21, Sat – 6:30 pm
At: Trickster, 2631 Ashby Ave., Berkeley, CA
We will start the beautiful visual journey along the beautiful blue Danube River, sail through the lovely historical city of Prague in Czech Republic to Budapest in Hungary, and end the European tour in the capital of music, Vienna. We will then fly to the Eastern Pearl, Hong Kong – visiting temples, antique markets and sail along the Victoria Harbor. The journey will end with visiting our beloved city by the bay, San Francisco. - Via Alina Chau’s Website
