Jaime Zacarias’ special mix of art – combines elements of Luchadors, octopus parts, Mexican revolutionaries and toy-like critters into intricate and vibrant flavorful goodies. Full of Chicano heritage, decorative designs, street art drippings, textures, calligraphy, and looping tubular appendages. Whether these appendages are electronic cords, tentacles, ropes or paint squeezes – it doesn’t seem to matter much. It all works together, resulting in his special brand of Los Angeles tribal celebrations and surreal sarcasm. I just love the Juxtapoz turned into Suxapoz (below), bravo!
“I find myself mesmerized by the seemingly infinite details and borderline infectious behaviors of each character I create, while striving to transform and challenge the traditional interpretations of the icons we all know so well.” - Jaime Zacarias (aka Germs)
