This weekend – the art fair, ArtPadSF 2013 is bursting with stunning art of all kinds at the ever-so-groovy Phoenix Hotel in the Tenderloin. A retro setting, once you are poolside in the Phoenix’s courtyard, you will lose all awareness of the hood outside.
It is a wonderfully unique place for an art fair – hip and tropical, swinging with sculpture and updated vintage vibes. This is their third fair at the hotel and Eclectix has been able to enjoy each one.

One of the best aspects about ArtPadSF is it’s manageable size, just enough art display space so that one feels satiated – but not an overwhelming amount making your feet ache and your eyes go jiggy. Each gallery has its own hotel room – converted into a mini gallery, even the bathrooms. There is a restaurant and bar, palm trees and a gorgeous pool, sparkling in the sunlight to kick back and relax by, in-between room hopping.
We’ve shared just a tiny tidbit of the impressive art on exhibit – way too many great artists and art to cover here – just enough to tickle your fancy and get you on down to ArtPad’s happening scene. Many of our photos are detail shots, some are from familiar favorites and others are fresh new discoveries. (Upcoming features on the latter are in the works!)
May 16 – 19th, Phoenix Hotel, 601 Eddy St., San Francisco, CA
