PREVIEW: Artist Collaborations at Modern Eden

The next dynamic duo of exhibitions to open at Modern Eden are based on collaboarative junctions between artists. First is a local husband and wife artist team, known as Doubleparlour, Ernie and Cassandra Velasco – who create offbeat and super-cute sculptures. This will feature all new work by the pair, based on the theme Trinity and the archetype of the Triple Deity. We snagged some shots from Doubleparlor’s blog to share with you here.

The accompanying show - Allied Forces brings together different artist pairings, working together to create a singular and surprising final work – marrying two different styles into one.

“Collaboration—or joint production by two or more artists—is a common style among musicians and performance artists. It has not been as popular  in the world of art, and especially in modern art. But the strong sense of individualism long possessed by artists of fine art is being set aside for this dynamic group show. They are working on pieces that engage each other, creating something more surprising than a work created by individual artists alone.”Via Modern Eden
