Passion for Frida In Oakland

Exhibition Review

The Passion for Frida exhibition opened last Saturday to a super packed house in the beautiful and bright new Oakland space – known as Sanchez Contemporary. We love and obsess over all things Frida Kahlo and the amount of dynamic, passionate and inspired imagery honoring Frida in this show are terrific. We’ve selected a few of our favorite artworks here – this is definitely a must see exhibition!

This is the 8th year of the Passion for Frida group exhibition -a celebration of art honoring the life and passion of Frida Kahlo. For the past 7 years the exhibit has been curated by Bird Levy (Polu Manu Productions) and hosted at Puerto Alegre in San Francisco’s Mission District. This year the show is at the new venue, Sanchez Contemporary in Oakland, curated by Maria Sanchez & Bird Levy.
