Featured Artist: Lucy Hardie
We just fell in love with Lucy’s vintage inspired – Mary (above), a portrait she completed of her great-grandmother. The big hair with organic weaves and the floating body rising to the heavens – all work together creating a seamless and dynamic masterpiece.
Lucy Hardie is an Australian artist based in Ocean Grove, Victoria. Born in Shepparton, Victoria, she began her education at a Waldorf school that her parents built on their farm and it was here that her artistic inclinations were fostered. Surrounded by her parent’s extensive collection of art books, she became enchanted at an early age by the work of Grünewald, Repin and the illustrations by H. J. Ford and Ivan Bilibin, often losing herself in their other worldly imagery. Lucy works in ink and graphite on cotton paper.
“I seek for my work to facilitate in the viewer a deeper experience of Life’s infinite beauty and mystery, to help others remember our already free and interconnected nature. Art is a catalyst for a more liberated and embracing self and worldview. I am also inspired by fairy tales from all over the world and Integral Psychology / Philosophy. Most of all I am inspired by being ALIVE.”
