The Fierce Fashion of Konstantin Kofta
Eclectic clothing designer Konstantin Kofta creates extremely original, avant-garde and sumptuously designed backpacks, bags and shoes. The eclectic flavors of Bosch, Audrey Hepburn, Giger and Edward Scissorhands pop into mind. He pulls his inspiration from human anatomy (spines, skin), elements of nature (tree roots, soil textures), Baroque architecture and his interpretations of the sacred and darker spirits. The beautiful folds, wrinkles and shapes in his designs are superbly tactile and wearable – but aesthetically stand on their own as fine art sculptures.
On Kofta’s website (here) you can peruse all his lovelies, as well as get lost in his little intro paragraphs about each collection, such as this one, below…
“From birth, We try to stand up and take our first steps. We yearn to touch and be touched and to feel sensations for the first time. We can perceive objects with an unclogged consciousness. Pure perception without comparison . We know nothing other than that which we can see and feel… Spirit does not have form, but some forms can have spirit, vibration does not have a color but color can have vibration, mood does not have a texture, but textures can have a mood.”
