Jennifer Nehrbass creates beautiful, surreal figurative works with women in predominant roles. Often nude and sensual, they are never gratuitously sexy. Sometimes wrapped in plastic, they speak of women – used and packaged as products or placed on pedestals. Her series of cameos is inspired by Margaret Atwood’s novella The Penelopiad, a reinterpretation of the Greek myth of Penelope and Odysseus.
