The Dripping Lives of Christine Wu

Christine Wu-Eclectix

Christine Wu’s figurative paintings are loose and somewhat abstracted, with dripping hues, patches of gold leaf and smeared backgrounds. Overlapping limbs and double exposures compete with foreground and backgrounds. Sumptuous in their texture and real in modern day subject matter, Christine’s paintings are choice accomplishments.

The enchanting piece (above) is based on the song  Land by Patti Smith and we love it’s  Klimnt-like influence and erotic posture, spiced up with the threat of a self-inflicted switchblade. She really captured the image of Johnny from the lyrics, doing a great song the justice it deserves. Patti should be proud. Christine’s exquisite works radiate with gestured life, the good and bad and the clean and dirty.

Christine will have a solo show at La Luz de Jesus in November, 2013.
