david kassen art

David Jon Kassan paints incredible hyper realistic oil portraits often set against abstracted and muted graffiti inspired backgrounds. Technically proficient and masterful in his medium, his poignant raw souls ask to be heard. His beings are humanity at its core, unedited, complete with age earned wrinkles and messy struggles.

Featured Artist: Ian Ingram

Ian Ingram has a series of masterfully rendered realistic, confrontational self portraits and other twists of the imagination. They are very large works executed in graphite, charcoal and pastel with a recent shift towards oil painting.

We just got wind of  Benjamin A. Vierling’s  current solo exhibition in Seattle and had to share. (Thanks, Phantasmaphile!)  This show is on view from January 17 – Feb. 14th, 2014, in the Steele Gallery, at the Gage Academy of Art, Seattle. A great way to spend some quality time with your Valentine… just seeing in person the incredibly gorgeous sacred heart painting (above), would rock my day!

Dan Witz: Public and Confidential

Exhibition Preview: Dan Witz

Dan Witz has a solo show opening in Rome - Public and Confidential at Wunderkammern. The artist specifically created new works in which illusionistic doors, gates, and bars offer a view of hidden characters. These depictions are an extension of projects started in 2012,  in collaboration with Amnesty International, in which the artist reflects on the freedom of thought and expression of the individual.

scott fraser - eclectix

The current exhibition of Scott Fraser’s art - Outside the Box, is a cleanly painted surreal treat of realist twists. Scott has married still-lives of household items, hands and common objects into wonderful feasts. Witness those little Goldfish crackers getting their comeuppance
