Gérard Willemenot - Eclectix art

Featured Artist: Gérard Willemenot

Gérard Willemenot is an incredible French artist who seems to be a quite a recluse, we weren’t able to find out much about him in English. One look at his art and one can see he is a master of observation and technique, rendering in minute and detailed realism. Painting in old school egg tempera, his imagery hearkens back to the mysticism of the Middle Ages with a bit of modern illustrative cartoon style thrown in.

Eclectix art

Featured Artist: Mohau Modisakeng

South African Mohau Modisakeng wears many artistic hats – working in sculpture, video, street art, installations, performance and photography. Our favorites are his more surreal and emotive works – where the subject’s face is obscured, some by mask-like objects and others by beautiful dusty clouds.  Partially fragmented by smoke or chalk they imply a spiritual presence, ambiguity of existence and/or the disintegration of matter.

david kassen art

David Jon Kassan paints incredible hyper realistic oil portraits often set against abstracted and muted graffiti inspired backgrounds. Technically proficient and masterful in his medium, his poignant raw souls ask to be heard. His beings are humanity at its core, unedited, complete with age earned wrinkles and messy struggles.

Bruno Walpoth

Italian woodworker and artist, Bruno Walpoth carves incredibly lifelike figurative sculptures which stand quietly, as solitary souls in between stages of life and purpose. Vulnerable, unsure and pensive – they seem like newborn adults, brought to life by the hand of the artisan.
