It’s not often that I go to a Tumblr site and just can’t pull away. However, the well curated site - The Villa of Ormen - did just that, pulled me in for an extended darkly fantastic voyage. If you like otherworldly, surreal, mysterious imagery with haunted overtones, this is the bomb. Bits of words of wisdom, philosophical quotes and symbolism also sprinkle this site, in between the stunningly gorgeous images.
The Oscars 2015, Graphic Design
If you were awake, you must have noticed the stunning Academy Awards graphic design on the recent Oscars 2015 telecast. Henry Hobson is one of the unsung graphic designers behind those category introductions, along with the California animation studio Elastic and show co-producer Lee Lodge. The fantastic graphics were the best part of the whole show, breaking up the usual pomp and cheese with refreshingly beautiful visuals.
The Art of Bjork, Selected Images
With the release of Bjork’s newest album Vulnicura, comes another dramatically flamboyant image of the muse herself, adding to the plethora of art surrounding her. Everyone’s favorite little eclectic elf, with her imaginative sounds and inventive visual explosions has quite a portfolio of eclectic personas. We thought a compilation of our favorite images would be a feast of eye candy for us, as well as a rewarding homage to the punky diva herself.
