Artitechture = Art & Architecture
For all you Giger fanatics out there (and we know there are a lot of you…), a visit and drink at one of the Alen Bars by artist H.R. Giger is definitely on your travel menu. There are two Alien Bars – one in in Gruyères, Switzerland and one in Chur, Switzerland. And we can’t imagine that a more artful surreal place to have a cocktail exists on the planet.
Featured Artist: David Seidman
We don’t feature a lot of digital art here at Eclectix, but when we do it’s full of original creativity and imagination that cannot be denied. David Seidman’s art is all that and more – a feast of dark and pop surrealism which inspire beautiful meanderings of the eye. His marriage of all the techniques modern-day technology and old school classicism has to offer, result in phantasmagorias worthy of swoons.
Art On The Web
It’s not often that I go to a Tumblr site and just can’t pull away. However, the well curated site - The Villa of Ormen - did just that, pulled me in for an extended darkly fantastic voyage. If you like otherworldly, surreal, mysterious imagery with haunted overtones, this is the bomb. Bits of words of wisdom, philosophical quotes and symbolism also sprinkle this site, in between the stunningly gorgeous images.
Featured Halloween Artist: Christopher Shy
Shy’s artwork has a dreamlike quality full of gothic loveliness – blurred symbolism and tempered violence with veiled details in a dark, smoky palette.
Featured Artist: Adam Crawford
Adam Crawford is a Philadelphia based artist. We love his strange figurations, smudgy faces of creepy, moody creatures – distorted and erupting with some fantastic skin disease or showing mutations much like The Elephant Man.
Featured Artist: Danny van Ryswyk
Danny van Ryswyk works digitally, producing prints and 3D sculptures of moody and contemplative characters, often within dark themes and settings. While his older works are reminiscent of other contemporary pop surrealists works – we love Danny’s newer works, which are evolving with a strong sense with their own identity.
