While researching our prior birthday David Bowie post, we also discovered a book of photography - Station To Station, by Geoff MacCormack - a mate of Bowie’s from back in the day. A long-time friend of Bowie since their schooldays in Bromley, Warren Peace (initially as GA MacCormack) contributed backing vocals to a number of albums, beginning with Aladdin Sane in 1973 and continuing through to Station to Station in 1976. Below is a photo of Geoff and Bowie, who looks to be in costume for filming The Man Who Fell To Earth.
The book, aptly titled Station To Station, is full of great candid snapshots from their travels as well as scrapbook mementos and related texts. Approximately 200 photographs and items of memorabilia including tour programs, tickets and letters, from the author’s personal archives, nearly all of which are being published for the first time. This is a limited edition book, signed by both Bowie and MacCormack, bound in Italian leather – hence a hefty £295 price tag.
