We were enchanted by the series of dreamlike pieces titled Between Worlds by Bonnie. They flow, drip and elude to transformation with a moody, almost abstracted ambiance. These mixed media pieces are inspired by the 1968 cult classic film “Night of the Living Dead.” The series began as an homage to the film’s dark aesthetic and ominous motifs, but has evolved into a meditation on the delicate boundary between life and death, or between the physical world and the spiritual world.
“A lot of art today is either purely decorative or purely conceptual. I strive for a balance between the idea I’m trying to convey and the work’s aesthetic appeal.” – Bonnie Gloris
